Philadelphia born and raised and a two-time graduate of West Virginia University, I spent the bulk of my adult life in sportscasting. After building a successful career, I decided to start all over again. I packed four suitcases and moved to Israel - sight unseen - with no job and no connections there. Within fifteen months, I was married (the first wedding I ever went to in Israel was my own), became a father, shifted from sports to political reporting, represented my country in international sports competition and reconnected to Judaism, which I hadn't been actively involved with since my youth.
I now live in New York with my wife, Hila (a brilliant occupational therapist and child development specialist, a master cook and a wonderful mother), our two daughters, Ella and Libi, and our dog, Uzi. In my spare time, I...well...I'll have spare time again someday.

I was selected as Israel's representative to umpire the 2017 European Baseball Senior Championships, 2017 Maccabiah Games and 2016 European Baseball U21 Championships. I was also a crewmember for the 2018 Maccabi Youth Games. Additionally, I served as home plate umpire for 2016 and 2017 Israeli Premier League Championship Games, 2018 Championship Series and 2016 All-Star Game.

I had a great time coaching the middle school baseball team at The Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel! This wonderful group of kids from America, Canada, India, Japan, Angola, France, Turkey, Russia and Israel went from two straight winless seasons to a 4-2 record.
